"I was in denial, but I realized I had to choose my mental health first over everything else. I was tired of suffering,  aren't you tired of suffering too? This world is unhinged, and it seems to get more chaotic every day. My anxiety is hitting the roof and it feels like some depression is setting in. Talking to friends is fine, but I needed a skilled professional who could get me on the path to recovery. I just wanna wake up feeling mentally and emotionally free. So, I said YES to my mental health and so should you. Exceptional therapists are hard to find and I'm happy I found Newbridge Counseling. So, no more procrastination; I'm  getting started!"

TESTIMONIALS

Tranisa B

"Tamara is so easy to talk to. It’s like she is a friend. I will just be word vomiting getting things out and she catches something I say and gives me techniques to work on it. I never see her write anything down, but the next week she will ask me are the techniques working. I have worked with several counselors over the last 40 years and she is the absolute BEST! I wish I had found her years ago. Highly recommend!"

Tamara did a great job of ushering me through a challenging time. While I'm not out of the woods yet, she gave me the fundamental items to focus on that have allowed me to heal at a much quicker pace than I would on my own. She listens well, gives decisive advice/perspective and uplifts when possible. I'm grateful for Tamara for sharing her support and wisdom with me.

Typical Questions

Is therapy right for me?
Working with a therapist can help to provide clarity, support, and new strategies for all types of life challenges. Therapy can help manage many types of issues including depression, anxiety, anger, grief, stress management, and other life transitions. Thus, therapy is right for those willing to take the first courageous step towards recovering mental balance in their lives.

How long will I be in therapy?
That depends of the severity of your situation, your restorative effort, and your level of improvement.

Is virtual therapy just as good as meeting in a regular office?
Yes! virtual therapy (Telehealth) is just as effective as being in an office. And it also allows you to receive services in the comfort of your home, or anywhere you have a steady, private internet connection.

Are the counseling sessions kept private?
Yes! All sessions are kept strictly confidential in accordance to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. (HIPPA) regulations. However, situations that can allow a break in confidentiality, is when a client is a threat to himself/herself or others. In such cases, a therapist must notify the person in danger or notify someone who can keep the client safe.

What if I miss my appointment?
We accommodate schedule changes upon availability, provided we are given a minimum 24-hour notice for cancellations. Missed appointments and cancellations occurring less than 24-hours prior to your scheduled appointment, will be charged the full session rate.

Do you take insurance or private-pay? We accept the following insurances: Anthem, Cigna,

EAP (employee assistance program) for Cigna, Optum, and EAP for Optum. Subsequently, insurance providers require that a diagnosis be made in order to pay for your therapy sessions. This results in the diagnosis becoming a part of your permanent medical record. Further, insurance is able to control how much therapy you get, how often you have it, and how much they want to pay towards each session. They may also request case reviews or case notes, which further limits your confidentiality. Thus, for those that prefer to do self pay which allows for more diagnosis privacy, our rates are $115 for the initial assessment and $115 for 50-60 minutes of therapy.
